Life (and theatre) is but a bit of Chocolate

By Suzie Hansen, Founding Director

The following is an actual conversation that touched my heart and gave me pause. It made me realize how adults can be too logical and maybe, just maybe – perhaps some of us need to lighten up.

The Opening of FROST/NIXON, the Play that Almost Didn't Happen

By James Douglass

Names have been withheld from this story to protect the innocent.

My Facebook memories reminded me on Oct. 6, that five years ago, Absolute Theatre opened its premiere production of FROST/NIXON, the first of an ambitious season of five plays.

Barrier performs "Hiding Behind" Monologue Monday

By James Douglass

Absolute Board Member Patricia Barrier will be performing her original monologue “Hiding Behind” on Monday, Feb 1, 2021 along with 4 other selected writer/performers with Roland Tec’s Some1Speaking monologue program.

It will be on Zoom at 5 PM central time (yeah, we know - weird time - but they have people participating from all over the world - including New Zealand)

Info is at: www.hearmeoutmonologues.com (look under next up section) You must register there in advance on Eventbrite - tickets are $5. You will receive the Zoom link about two hours before the event.

"Even if you can’t attend the event, I suggest you check out this website and the work Roland Tec is doing," Patricia Barrier said. "I have been connected and writing with his group since May and it has been amazing!"

Patricia Barrier has been Absolute Theatre's advocate for area playwrights since she joined the board of directors. During the pandemic we have been doing readings of area playwrights. We had two virtual reading in January and are working toward another play by a local playwright in February. Watch the events on our Facebook page or this website for details.

Congratulations, Patricia!
